Upon receipt of a microtome:: It is carefully inspected to determine the services that are required in order to rejuvenate the cutting edge. The microtome is inventoried and measurements for the cutting angles are verified.
Reconditioning:: After visually inspecting the microtome, if there are any breaks or severe damage seen at the cutting edge the microtome will have to go through our reconditioning process. Reconditioning the microtome will ensure that the cutting edge will be completely smooth for the sharpening process.
Sharpening:: This process begins rejuvenating the cutting edge of the microtome smoothing out any imperfections.
Finishing:: Our unique finishing process further refines the sharpened cutting edge of the microtome. This step ensures an increase increased slicing performance and longevity of the sharpened microtome.
Verification:: After the finishing process the microtome is thoroughly inspected under a microscope to verify the final product.
